My name is Andre Oliver and I’m running for State Representative of the 170th district in Georgia.
A little bit about myself:
I’m a married business owner w/18 years of business experience. I’m also a distinguished United States Air Force (USAF) veteran who proudly served his country for nearly a decade. After leaving the USAF in 2002, I founded a retail establishment with only the savings in my account. I worked night & day to create a foothold in Valdosta, GA and endured the effects of the 2008 recession, personal losses, and financial uncertainties to refocus, reinvent, reclaim, and renew my efforts to establish a business front that will one day become a part of my children’s legacy. That retail store now claims the distinction of being the longest running specialty store in its market in the history of the county it is located in. Being a business owner has taught me numerous valuable lessons such as credit awareness, budgeting, and project management. A day without learning and experiencing growth is a day wasted.
The pursuit of higher education is very important to me. I have degrees in Logistics and Psychology, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA). My education path has allowed me to plan & implement changes designed to maximize the use of space and personnel, to understand the unique eccentricities of people as it relates to providing services of value, and to think strategically while effectively communicating benchmarks so that successful processes are met and can be repeated. In addition to this, my USAF experience offers a world-view, leadership & management training, and encompasses an ability to implement and follow procedures and guidelines that are necessary to provide the structure needed to build and maintain organizations.
I work tiredly to accomplish my business endeavors and provide for my family, as well as to help businesses and community members alike to realize their true potential. My personality is best described as outgoing and I wholeheartedly believe that you get out of the world what you put into it. With that said, I am seeking election so that my unique skill set, beliefs, and experiences can be utilized to better serve our community. This skill set and knowledge base has taught me to think critically. Critical thinking is very important when tasked with weighing the long-term effects of legislations passed.
At times I miss serving my country. Given this, it would be an honor to serve the great state of Georgia as your representative for District 170.
Elect ANDRE OLIVER as your State Representative so that values, wisdom, and compassion can serve as the compass needed to help guide District 170 into an age of change geared around education and prosperity for all social and economic classes. We are many, yet we are all the same. As your State Representative, the laws, taxes, and other legislative decisions will be just and fair and represent the concerns of our district as a whole.
Vote....Andre Oliver for State Representative - HD 170
"Your Democratic choice."
Why Your Vote Counts
April 25, 2020
Good men and women in record numbers have stepped up to seek election to help return decency and common sense back to government.
Our government is responsible for enforcing contracts, creating and sustaining markets, protecting private property, producing educational systems and infrastructure which allows efficient commerce to occur. The current administration and many of the republicans that serve them have failed to maintain the very idea of what defines our government and the people they were elected to serve. As Abraham Lincoln stated during the Gettysburg Address (Nov. 19, 1863) "That government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." It is your vote that will help cast aside those that have endangered our way of life as American's. It's your government so cast your vote during the primaries and general elections and let your voices be heard.
